James Hetfield and ESP LTD present the Snakebyte: an impressive EX-style offering based on Hetfield's own custom shop guitar from the '80s and '90s. Having shrugged off the retro skin, this special edition model has been freshly upgraded and reloaded with a set of EMG JH Het humbuckers to deliver earth-shattering, metal-ready sound, coated in the kind of warmth and dynamic response that you'd usually only get with with a passive setup. Built for more than just Metallica mega-fans, this stomping axe comes complete with a tailor-made case.

The Snakebyte: Full-On Sound

Built like a tank, the Snakebyte provides the maximum reassurance of a mahogany neck with a narrow U-profile and a matching mahogany body which combines for a rich and resonant, full acoustic foundation. The ebony fretboard has been kitted out with a set of twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets for light and fast, unrestricted playing comfort, while a TonePros Tune-O-Matic bridge and LTD locking machine heads lay down extreme tuning stability.

ESP

In 1975, Hisatake Shibuya opened his Electric Sound Products shop in Japan, where his reputation for churning out supreme-quality replacement parts grew so rapidly, that it wasn't long before he started hand-building his own guitars under the name ESP. In the 1980s, the brand shot to fame when ESP models made their way into the hands of massive metal bands, including Metallica. These days, ESP serves up a wide range of incredibly versatile instruments, from high-grade Custom Shop models to the affordable LTD series.
