General

Every guitar from the 1001 series is an LTD Deluxe model, characterised by an exceptional finish combined with the best hardware and components. The ESP LTD M-1001 is a beautiful, excellent-sounding example of a 1001-series instrument, partly due to its Flamed Maple top sealed with transparent black lacquer. The fitted Floyd Rose bridge allows you to make the deepest dive bombs without fear of dropping your tuning while two active humbuckers deliver delightfully tight and clear sound.

Déjà, bravo Bax Shop pour le service très pro. J'ai vraiment apprécié qu'on vérifie que je n'aie pas été victime d'une fraude. La livraison a eu lieu dans les délais prévu, colis en très bon état, aucun souci à la réception... Nickel !

Venons-en à la LTD en elle-même.
Avant de la choisir, j'ai hésité avec d'autres modèles de chez LTD. La M1000 en blanc était magnifique, la MH-1001 me plaisait aussi, les trois étant dans une fourchette de prix très étroite.
Ce qui m'a décidé, c'est que j'ai déjà 3 électriques avec corps en acajou, donc je voulais changer de bois et je préférais la M1001 en See thru black à la M1000 en blanc.

Sitôt déballée et accordée, sitôt testée : quel son ! Propre, sec, précis, puissant, mieux que ce que j'espérais. Plus propre encore que sur mon Ibanez équipée de micros DiMarzio. Les graves sont plus propres, les médium bien chauds et les aigus ont de la puissance sans être assourdissants.
Les harmoniques, en particulier, sont bien présents, que ce soit les naturels ou les artificiels.

C'est évidemment une guitare faite pour le métal, mais on peut jouer autre chose aussi. J'ai été agréablement surpris du son en réglage blues (sur mon ampli vox à modélisation d'il y a 15 ans). Les sons clean sont un peu froid mais ont de la profondeur. Par contre, il ne faut pas forcer sur le volume au risque de saturer un peu.
Le manche est un pur bonheur à parcourir. Il tombe naturellement sous la paume, il glisse tout seul, on a une excellente prise en main. Les réglages du chevalet sont bien pensés. Les cordes sont plus près du manche sur les aigus, un peu plus haut sur les graves, ce qui permet de se lancer dans des soli bien rapides sans avoir de frise. Le Floyd fonctionne très bien, il est maniable, ni trop souple ni trop dur.

Je ne l'ai reçue qu'hier mais j'ai déjà passé quelques heures dessus et il y en aura de nombreuses autres. Je ne me serais pas aventuré à acheter une ESP équivalent, compte-tenu du prix. Mais cette LTD, très bien construite, à la finition impeccable, vaut largement son tarif.

Ne me reste plus qu'à lui offrir un ampli à la hauteur :)
