If you're hopelessly in love with the sound of the '50s-era Les Paul but don't exactly have the cash needed to get your hands on a vintage Gibson, here's the just-as-devoted but friendly-priced Epiphone Les Paul Standard '50s. This faithful ode to the LP classic is fitted with a Vintage '50s neck for an authentic, dependable feel, with the added bonus of a modern rounded fretboard and fret-ends. That renowned, thick amplified sound is shaped by the combination of two Probuckers, a set of genuine CTS potentiometers and real vintage wiring while the welcome addition of the LockTone bridge and tailpiece, not only improve tuning stability, but actually stay in place when re-stringing. To finish, this Les Paul Standard '50s is topped with a Kalamazoo headstock.

Le son des micros est bluffant (même si c'est ma première HH).
J'ai vite compris l'image de la batte de baseball souvent donnée par rapport au manche. Cela ne gêne pas vraiment pour le jeu (au moins à mon niveau) même si la sensation est vraiment différente par rapport aux manches plus "modernes".
Je m'attendais aussi à plus lourd au vu de la réputation des Les Paul en la matière (même si elle doit être désormais la plus lourde de mes guitares).
En résumé très content de cette nouvelle guitare qui a son caractère (et c'est ce que je cherchais!).
