This Duesenberg DSP-SS Starplayer Special has a spectacular Silver Sparkle finish that looks especially dazzling under the lights on stage. It's not just its looks that give this instrument its character though. The wood it's made from, as well as the pickups it's fitted with, give this single-cut model its versatile sound. In 2003, this model was named Guitar of the Year. Since then, the Duesenberg Starplayer Special has undergone a few improvements!

Duesenberg Starplayer Special Silver Sparkle: versatile

This guitar is fitted with a Duesenberg Domino P-90 pickup in the neck position and a Grand Vintage humbucker in the bridge position. The humbucker delivers a powerful rock sound not unlike that of a PAF model. Together with the P-90 and the multi-tone system, the Duesenberg Starplayer Special offers a wide variety of sounds. In the middle position the lowest tones are partly filtered out for a sound that is suitable for a range of music styles. The maple body and neck add a bit of extra colour to the overall sound that is full of character.

Duesenberg named itself after the famous car company from the twenties that stood for elegance, luxury and mechanical precision. It also adopted these qualities for its guitars, with an eye for detail and Art Deco style that have been sought after ever since. All of the hardware used was developed in-house. This results in eye-catching guitars with a unique sound favoured by many famous guitarists around the world. Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Ron Wood, Bob Dylan, Billy Gibbons, Jon Bon Jovi, Mike Campbell, Elvis Costello; all of these musicians have one or more Duesenbergs.
