General

This D'Angelico Premier SD is a revamped version of its best known solid-body electric guitar. It's an attractively-priced model with a single cutaway for optimal playing comfort and it has a rich, powerful sound with plenty of sustain. The familiar headstock features stylish Rotomatic Stairstep machine heads and an aluminium Skyscraper truss rod cover that enhance this model's natural beauty. The high-gloss finish, chic binding and mother-of-pearl position blocks on the rosewood fretboard are other notable features that complete this model's stunning looks.

Premier SD: wood types, sound and comfort

The body and set-in neck are both made of nyatoh, a type of Asian hardwood, that gives this model excellent stability. The top is made of laminated mahogany and together, the wood types combine to produce a warm, well-balanced sound with just a touch of creaminess. Two specially-developed D'Angelico humbuckers are responsible for delivering that sound to your amplifier. They provide sparkling clean tones but have no trouble handling distortion either. Finally, it's not just the single cutaway that makes this instrument comfortable to play: the slim neck profile, arched top and belly cut all play their part too.

Een heerlijke gitaar met een authentiek elegante uitstraling.
Prachtige afwerking.
Komt goed afgesteld binnen.
Alleen de topkam zou wat lager kunnen.
Maar je, dat is misscjien ook persoonlijke smaak.
Over Nayatoh als houtsoort heb ik verschillende meningen gezien.
In elk geval is de kwaliteit bij D'Angelico prima en heeft de gitaar een utstekende klank en sustain.
Ook zonder versterker.
(Met het huidige prijsnivo zou er neg een ster bijkunnen)
