General

Like an echo of a fifties and sixties heirloom, this single-cut stunner brings antique-grade warmth and resonance into the present before piling on the modern comfort and playability. The D'Angelico Excel SS semi-acoustic features the smooth comfort of a C neck profile and the throwback tone of a maple body finished with a spruce top. The bound ebony fretboard has been finished with a set of twenty-two medium-jumbo frets, every last one of which is easily accessed via the deep and graceful cutaway.

High-Grade Hardware & Electronics

Two Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers spit thick and defined amplified sound, which can be thinned out to deliver some single-coil flavour via the push/pull coil-split switches supplied per pickup. Ultra-stable as well as ultra-variable, this refined D'Angelico offering has been polished off with a set of Grover machine heads, a dual-action truss rod, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a TUSQ nut, which don't just combine to firm up the tuning but pack the sustain with musicality.
