General

Charvel's Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 is nothing short of a Super Strat®. This HSS-configured electric guitar combines traditional looks with smart modern technology. The result is an exceptionally playable model that, while primarily aimed at metal guitarists, can just as easily take on fusion, rock and countless other styles. Also, since Charvel is owned by Fender® these days, the headstock of the Pro-Mod So-Cal has the timeless Stratocaster® design.

The Extreme Versatility of Seymour Duncan Pickups in an HSS Array

The HSS pickup configuration is one of the most versatile load-outs in terms of tone. Here, you get a Seymour Duncan® Distortion™ TB-6 humbucker at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan® Custom Flat Strat® SSL-6 single-coil in both the middle and neck position. The humbucker can even be 'split' into a single-coil voicing by engaging the push/pull function of the volume control, while the No-Load design of the tone pot means that when it's dialled in between 9 and 10, it's completely taken out of the equation, giving you the pure, unadulterated sound of the So-Cal Style 1 HSS FR M.

Well… just wow!!

Bought this having returned the HH version in white.

Great tone - dirty sound as you’d expect of course - but clean is stand out. Every position usable, making it super flexible, Dire Straits to Deathmetal with Chili Peppers in between.

Love the maple neck and fretboard.

Outstanding and my main axe now.
