The Sadowsky MetroLine Modern Bass is a first-class five-string that, while built in Germany, is practically on par with the brand's famed Custom Shop models that are put together in New York. Ask Roger Sadowsky and he'll tell you that the only noteworthy difference is that this more affordable model features a solid body.

The MetroLine 24-5 Modern: Outstanding Playing Comfort

To keep the weight as low as possible, the German have masterbuilders have used only specially selected wood, but that's not the only reason why the MetroLine 24-Fret Modern Bass feels and plays like a dream. The comfort and stability of a bolt-on C-profile maple neck and 12-inch fretboard radius chip in too, while the high-quality hardware, including the Just-A-Nut III nut, lightweight open tuners and quick-string-release bridge, have also been carefully picked out to ensure superb tuning stability, perfect intonation and fuss-free re-strings.

Trusty Soapbar Pickups for Modern Active or Vintage Passive Sound

As soon as you plug this exquisite bass into your amp, two Sadowsky-designed, modern position Soapbar pickups fire up to deliver widely adaptable passive sound, but you can also engage the push/pull tone control and gain access to a range of active sounds along with the option to tweak the tone to taste using the EQ controls that come with the active electronics. Last but not least, it's worth mentioning that Sadowsky include a Portabag gig bag, a certificate of authenticity, two S-security strap locks, and a set of adjustment keys.
