General

The GWB35-BKF is the more affordable model in the Ibanez Gary Willis Signature line-up. This 5-string bass is actually fretless and features a black body made of basswood, black hardware to match and the welcome addition of a finger ramp that supports consistent technique. Held in place by four screws, the ramp can also be removed with ease.

Pure Joy and Comfort

In terms of electronics, the Ibanez GWB35-BKF has been loaded with a passive SFR GWB pickup and 2-band EQ controls furnished with a volume pot and a tone control. As such, it can take on practically any style, while the 3-piece maple neck, the fretless ebony fretboard and the extended cutaway offer the comfort and grip needed to play higher up the neck. Finished with a special set of user-friendly machine heads to meet every last of Gary Willis's requests, the lightweight GWB35 is fully prepared to go on stage.

Wrote the following about Ibanez GWB35-BKF Gary Willis Signature 5-String Bass (Black Flat)

Mogelijk de beste fretloze bas die je kan halen voor zo goedkoop mogelijk.
Heeft een fijne hals, voelt als een platte D.
De snaren erop zijn geen flatwound maar standaard Roundwound snaren. Dit zie ik als een pluspunt.
De toets is van Ebbenhout en heel mooi donker.

De treble en bass knoppen functioneren als High-Shelf en Low-Shelf filters.
Doordat je kan boosten is het dus een actieve Eq.

Pluspunten:
- Lichtgewicht
- Matte afwerking op klankkast, zorgt voor minder vingerafdrukken en glijd wat fijner voor de arm

Minpunten:
- Is niet voor iedereen, de klank is modern
- Neckdive, ondanks de lichtgewicht stemmechanieken
- Alleen in zwart verkijgbaar, andere kleuren alleen beschikbaar voor de duurdere modellen
- De Eq knoppen draaien mee als je voorbij het eindpunt doordraait. De potmeter zit waarschijnlijk los aan de binnenkant
