Comfy playability and defined, versatile sound wrapped up in a sleek design for an affordable, beginner-friendly price? Ibanez set you up with the GSR200B four-string long-scale bass. The snug nyatoh body has been given a thin and lightweight SR shape and fitted with a bolt-on GSR4 maple neck with an easy playing feel. The solid nyatoh wood lays down a sweet and warm foundation sound, while the maple neck combines with a jatoba fretboard to add that all-important definition.

The Ibanez GSR200B Bass: Dynamix PJ Configuration & PHAT II EQ

To enhance the sonic versatility this bass has to offer, Ibanez have loaded it with a classic PJ-style pickup configuration, where a passive Dynamix split-coil takes up the middle position to provide that familiar and solid P-style sound, and a J-style passive Dynamix single-coil has been planted at the bridge to inject some pointed punch. A volume pot per pickup accurately blends and balances the output of both pickups, while the tone pot pulls the sound from bright to dark and back again as preferred. To finish, the special PHAT II EQ pot can be deployed to boost the bass frequencies for a thicker and even meatier sound.
