Taking all the best bits of the elegant and effortlessly cool original offset model and adding a few sleek next-gen upgrades, the Fender Player Series edition of the Jaguar Bass is a modern four-string with a classic PJ-voice. The satin-gloss coated maple neck and pau ferro fretboard add a warm edge to the output of the passive Alnico 5 pickups, where the single-coil at the bridge delivers the full and rich growl of a Jazz Bass and the split-coil in the middle position packs everything out with the unmistakable punch and definition of a Precision Bass.

The Fender Player Jaguar Bass: Comfortably Versatile

A dedicated volume pot has been fitted per pickup, so the output of the split-coil and single-coil pup can be isolated or blended before being moulded to shape via the single tone pot. This setup basically mashes up the best of both worlds, and is exactly what makes the Jag Bass so much more versatile than its Jazz and Precision siblings. This model also bears all the modern trimmings, including a 9.5 inch fretboard radius, which is flatter than previous incarnations and has been teamed up with a Modern-C neck carve to ease the load on the fret-hand. All of this serves to polish off a comfy and endlessly playable bass that can be taken anywhere and everywhere from light pop to post-punk and from indie to hard alternative.
