General

Part of Cort's Artisan Series, the B5 Element does everything right, including the price. This five-string bass combines an open-pore finish with a mahogany body, ash top and 5-piece walnut-and-panga-panga neck, where the fretboard is made from roasted maple for increased stability and aesthetics. Known for supporting great tuning stability and intonation, the Hipshot Ultralite tuners and the MetalCraft M5 bridge are also worth pointing out.

The B5 Element: Flexible Electronics

While the slim neck, flat fretboard and rounded body contours take care of a satisfying playing feel, the Bartolini preamp and MK-1 soapbar pickups take care of amplifying the warm-and-woody foundation sound. Here, the potent 3-band EQ controls, balancer pot and passive/active switch give you more than enough ways to steer as sounded as needed depending on your favourite style, whether it's rock, funk, punk or pop. Meanwhile, that extra string allows you to take your sound extra far and deep.
