General

This Universal Audio DSP card, the UAD-2 Quad Satellite Custom, comes with five basic plugins and three UAD plugins of your choice. Universal Audio's renowned UAD plugins do not tax your system, as they run exclusively on the processing power of this card. The UAD-2 Quad Satellite Custom is equipped with four SHARC DSP processors, which makes it powerful enough to allow for the simultaneous real-time processing of forty demanding Studer A800 Tape Machine plugins.

UAD-2 Satellite Quad Custom: powerful DSP processors

Universal Audio's UAD-2 Satellite comes in two different incarnations: the Duo and the Quad. The Quad edition features no fewer than four Analog Devices SHARC processors, which are able to run Universal Audio's plugins without requiring any processing power from your computer. As such, they take a load off your system, enabling you to use more automations, tracks, other effects and virtual instruments. If your projects are so comprehensive that you need additional DSP power, it's possible to combine the Satellite Quad with up to three other UAD-2 products.

Universal Audio's plugins

Universal Audio plugins are renowned for the exceptionally life-like way in which they emulate the sound and behaviour or classic analogue equipment. You can choose from an extensive selection of nearly sixty plugins, developed in collaboration with some of the most prominent brands in the professional audio business, such as Studer, SSL, Manley, Empirical Labs, Neve, Roland, Lexicon, Pultec and SPL. The Universal Audio UAD-2 Satellite Quad Custom is supplied with the Analog Classics plugin bundle, as well as three additional plugins of your choice.
