These Vic Firth HD4 drum sticks are based on the original SD4 design by Vic Firth. Like all other sticks from the American Classic series, however, the HD-4 is made of hickory. This wood type gives these drum sticks a defined sound and ensures that shocks are well absorbed, guaranteeing a long life. The small wooden tip adds a delightfully light touch to these Vic Firth American Classic HD4 drum sticks.

Sad news from the United States: Everett 'Vic' Firth, founder of the renowned Vic Firth brand of drumsticks, has passed away at age 85. This was announced on the Vic Firth Company's web site on July 27th, 2015. Everett Firth was a pioneer in the world of drumsticks and mallets, and ever since the 1960s he's been setting the bar for the companies that followed.
