General

Vic Firth is a world-leader when it comes to producing high-grade drumsticks, so it's little wonder that when they call on the help of renowned, professional drummers, they are rarely refused. These sticks have been designed according to the particular demands of none-other-than Dave Weckl; a Grammy award-winning drummer known for his work with the Elektric Band and Akoestic Band and his ability to almost seamlessly blend electronic drumming with acoustic drumming. As such, this set of sticks have been developed to support his unique needs.

The Vic Firth DW2 Drumsticks

The Vic Firth Dave Weckl Signature Series sticks includes four different models. This pair comes finished with a short, wooden tear-drop tip that supports a more intense cymbal response and especially excellent rebound. At 16 inches long, the DW2 edition sticks are a little shorter than the rest of the series and have a 14mm diameter, making them a fraction thicker than the DW editions. The DW2s have also been made from durable walnut wood.

Perfecte stokken met de signature van een perfecte drummer. Speel nergens anders mee. Heerlijke grip, bounce, duurzaamheid. Mooie prijs! De beste 5A stokken out there!

Heerlijke drumstokken, het geluid op bekkens is erg helder door de kortere tear drop tip, en door de geweldige rebounce, speel je razendsnel en erg soepel. De gelakte stokken hebben een uitstekende grip, en lijken ook wat voller bij de grip dan de 5a stokken. Het enige nadeel is dat niet elk paar stokken hetzelfde gewicht heeft, dit is wel handig als je wilt switchen tussen de wat lichtere of zwaardere stokken.

Voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een Vic Firth 5A met meer rebound, is dit echt de perfecte stok. De lengte van een 5A, maar net iets dunner en anders van vorm. Dit resulteert in een hele goede balans, waardoor je met minder input net zoveel output krijgt.
Enige nadeel is de oranje verf. Op de plaatjes lijkt het de kleur van het hout te zijn, maar het is gewoon verf. Als je dus geen oranje verf op je coated vellen wilt, zul je even een schuurpapiertje langs de achterkanten van de stok moeten laten gaan. Verder heb je er weinig last van en het geeft ook wat meer grip dan ongelakte stokken.

Sad news from the United States: Everett 'Vic' Firth, founder of the renowned Vic Firth brand of drumsticks, has passed away at age 85. This was announced on the Vic Firth Company's web site on July 27th, 2015. Everett Firth was a pioneer in the world of drumsticks and mallets, and ever since the 1960s he's been setting the bar for the companies that followed.
