General

The Roland TD-50x encompasses everything that the Roland V-Drum Series makes possible. Expect hyper-real sound courtesy of Prismatic Sound Modeling and breathtakingly direct response thanks to a powerful processor. Fitted with fourteen trigger inputs, this electronic-brain presents immense kit configuration options, and since three of the inputs offer a digital function, highly accurate pads like the Roland PD-140DS snare, CY-18DR ride, or VH-14D hi-hat can be freely hooked up, cracking open new realms of nuance due to their progressive velocity sensitivity, strike-position response, and articulation.

Studio & Stage

Where most e-kits are designed for more sociable home rehearsing, the TD-50x module has been designed specifically for the stage and studio. As such, alongside a set of stereo master outputs, this module comes fitted with eight balanced outputs, giving each drum component a dedicated send to the mixing desk. For sound techs, this is like mixing an acoustic kit but with even more control and accuracy. Meanwhile, a USB output can be used for 32 channel recording or streaming via direct, super-low-latency connection to a computer.

From the Real to the Imagined

At the core, the sounds that come pre-loaded into the TD-50x are as real as they can get, but using the in-depth effects section, you can put your own unique spin on every sample. Independent effects can be applied to each individual trigger, including EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and various modulation effects, and multiple samples can even be stacked. All of this is then fed through a master EQ and master compression, and what results is essentially a sound-designing-drummer's dream.
