General

Pearl's maple drum sets are famed for their rich, warm sound. The Vision Maple Lacquer (VML) series of drums are the most affordable of Pearl's maple drum sets. Part of this series is this five-piece VML905-C803 in Volcano Burst. A high-quality studio-type drum set that is best suited for advanced players, professional drummers and the dedicated beginner who wants to start off right. This drum set consists of a 20-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms, a 14-inch floor tom and a matching 14-inch snare.

Pearl VML905-C803 Vision drum set Volcano Burst: maple shells

Pearl wants every drummer to be able to jump behind their kit as fast as they can and start playing. That's why the manufacturer has decided to include a set of hardware from their 900 series. All you need now is a set of cymbals. The hardware pack consists of stands for your hi-hat, cymbals and snare, and of course Pearl did not forget to include a bass drum pedal. The stands have double-braced legs with sturdy rubber feet for extra stability. As for the Volcano Burst VML's sound: the maple shells produce a warm, full sound and evenly distribute high-end attack and mid-range body. Combined with a great low-end punch, that makes the VML905 a very versatile drum set. Pearl also provides you with two-ply batter heads, which are easier to tune and produce a very powerful sound.

Maple

Maple has been used to make drum shells for years and it is still a first-choice where quality is concerned. Not only does it have great tonal properties, it also looks very good. The shells have been fabricated in line with Pearl's Superior Shell Technology, which uses heat, precision cutting, Acoustiglue and hydraulic pressure to create the ultimate acoustic air chamber. At the end of the production line of the VML905-C803 Volcano Burst, Pearl chose for a high-end, glossy Artisan II Lacquer, which gives this drum its striking looks.
