This three-piece Ludwig shell set is a perfect kit for jazz drummers. It's modelled after the Club Date models from the '60s, but modified to fit modern-day standards through the addition of modern hardware and other wood types. This Olive Sparkle shell set consists of an 18-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 14-inch floor tom.

This shell set's 6-ply shells are made of a combination of cherry and gumwood. Cherry produces a deep, dark and loud tone with excellent clarity, while gumwood has a warm, balanced sound with plenty of mid and low end tones. The shells have a full roundover bearing edge and classic 'bow tie' lugs, which give the kit even more of a '60s Club Date feel. It's the ideal shell set for jazz drummers who play gigs regularly and who want that authentic Ludwig sound!

Hardware

The 18-inch bass drum is fitted with a Rail Consolette Mount that allows you to quickly and easily find the perfect position for you tom. Furthermore, the Vibraband tom holder will keep the tom stable and ensures optimal resonance as it makes minimal contact with the shell. The bass drum spurs, meanwhile, are what Ludwig call 'Folding Gull-Wing' spurs. As you can see, the hardware definitely lives up to the high standards set by the excellent drum shells. This will allow both beginners and advanced drummers to experience this kit's excellent playability, tone and feel.
