General

2024 is the year in which Tama turns 50 and, to celebrate, the distinguished Japanese drum kit and hardware maker launches the very special Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide Pedal in a brain-bending Marble Psychedelic Rainbow Finish. Especially for all you double-kick fanatics, Tama has taken the legend that is the OG Iron Cobra, tweaked and improved it here and there to make things extra good. Compared to previous models, the Iron Cobra 900 has been fully upgraded from every angle. This edition is ideal for right-footed drummers and comes complete with a hardshell case.

The Tama Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide Limited Edition Double Kick Pedal

To start, the stability has been boosted by the widened and strengthened base plate, which you can immediately see and feel back in the playability. In addition, the foot plate has been secured to the base plate using a new-and-improved method, raising the overall durability and stability of the pedal and reducing the lateral movement that happens after long-term use to zero. The mounting system has also been improved, where the right pedal is attached to the bass drum hoop via the Para Clamp II Pro, a rubber clamp with a sturdy, powerful grip that leaves no scratches behind. The renewed Cobra Series Lite Sprocket doesn't just support even smoother pedal action, but ups the overall playability, and the renewed Power-Strike Cobra beater guarantees solid and punching depth. One final, less obvious detail is the Swivel Spring Tight system, which allows the spring to swivel forward and backwards, keeping it continuously straight, reducing resistance and resulting in a natural, more comfortable playing feel.

Rolling Glide or Power Glide?

You might be wondering "What's the difference the Power Glide and Rolling Glide system?" The trick lies in how the beater makes contact with the drumhead. With a Power Glide pedal, the cam gives the beater some extra speed just before the strike to increase the action, which can be really useful for pop, rock and metal drummers. If you prefer a more uniform speed, then a Rolling Glide pedal will be a better pick for you.
