Operating a large professional lighting installation might seem like a daunting task. Various fixtures might have different functions, but still they all need to work in unison in one setup. With this Showtec Creator 2048, you needn't worry. The Creator 1024's big brother can send out no fewer than 2,048 DMX channels, spread over four DMX universes and comes in a durable flight case for safe transportation. This serious piece of kit will make you the master of your light show!

Showtec Creator 2048: Shape Generator

If you've ever operated a large lighting installation, you know how much time it takes to program a spectacular show. For that reason, the Creator 2048 features the Shape Generator, which has been programmed with a large number of DMX chases. Pan/tilt movements, colour changes, and dimmer, gobo, zoom and focus programs are at your disposal. These chases are easily assigned to DMX channels so that you will enjoy a speedy programming process. Shows can even be stored on a FAT32 USB stick!

Overview

The status of the Showtec Creator 2048 is clearly indicated on the blue LCD display, while intuitive controls make quick adjustments to a lighting setting possible. The Showtec Creator 2048 is also compatible with R20 fixture library files. This means that you won't have to manually add every fixture to DMX channels. Programming chases or even complete scenes is very easy - up to 150 chases with 600 steps are allowed for. The DMX outputs are optically isolated, so that any short-circuiting accidents aren't fatal to your controller. Use the Showtec Creator 2048 for your large, demanding and complex productions!

Wrote the following about Showtec Creator 2048 DMX Controller

Ok, wat was dat uitzoeken om het apparaat aan het werk te krijgen, ik heb de hele tijd gedacht "hij is kapot", maar niets is minder waar, gelukkig maar! Als je gewend bent met de gewone lichtcontrollers te werken, moet je even wennen aan de werking van deze machine. Bij de standaardlichtcontrollers gebruik je de faders om de functie van een fixture te bedienen. Met de Creator 2048 is de fader niets meer als een masterdimmer of masterspeed van een fixture. De functies van een fixture kunnen gekozen worden met de attributebuttons gekozen worden (bovenste rij buttons), zoals dimmer, pan en tilt, kleur, gobo etc. De waardes worden eenvoudig aangepast met de jogwheels (rechtsonder). Hierdoor is de bediening van je fixtures al een stuk eenvoudiger geworden.

Wel is het zo dat de machine uitsluitend werkt met r20 files, wil je een fixture werkend krijgen dan moet ie zijn eigen stukje software hebben, de r20 files zijn te downloaden, maar bestaat ie niet dan moet ie zelfgemaakt worden in Showtec personality builder (te downloaden in het downloadtablad van Bax).

Omdat de gebruiksaanwijzing van Showtec echt belabberd is heb ik heb ook veel zitten Googlen op het net, maar nergens een goede tutorial of gebruiksaanwijzing te vinden, ik ben echt uren bezig geweest om dit uit te vogelen. eenmaal het kwartje gevallen vierde ik een klein feestje. Rekeninghoudend met het bovenstaande.

Wil je professioneel je licht besturen dan is dit echt een aanrader.
