General

The Meinl BA3BK is an Iyá Batá hand percussion instrument, meaning it's the largest type of bata, originating from Cuba. Its drumheads are made of hand-selected buffalo hide, and have 6.5 and 12-inch diameters. As the bata is made of high-quality fibreglass with a glossy finish, it is both lightweight and extremely durable. The BA3BK offers an authentic and unique sound that you and your audience are sure to enjoy.

Tuning and transportation

Traditional TTR rims keep the aforementioned drumheads in place, and with the included tuning key you can tune the instrument yourself. That way, you can fine-tune the sound of your instrument to suit your preferences. Furthermore, not only did Meinl include a tuning key, they also threw in a nylon shoulder strap, so that you can easily take the bata with you, wherever you go.
