General

This is one Llama you shouldn't be afraid of upsetting. Its bright red colour may be meant as some sort of warning but when the Way Huge WH203 Red Llama spits, oodles of overdrive is what you get. With just the press of a button, your amp will take on a completely new character. The original Red Llama was introduced in 1999. This version doesn't simply replicate the original but has an updated design and tone. Thanks to the CMOS circuit, this pedal sounds and reacts just like you were playing a tube amp. The WHE203 produces subtle overdrive, creamy lead tones and everything in between. The Way Huge Red Llama is a boutique-style overdrive pedal at an affordable price.

WH203 Red Llama: Tweed-style overdrive

With the Way Huge Red Llama you can get a different sound out of any amplifier. Whether your amp is big or small or clean or dirty, the WHE203 will add a rich harmonic palette to its sound. The drive control lets you adjust the sound from a soft crunch to a wall of distortion. The lower setting is perfect for open chords or powerful clean tones. For strong power chords simply add a little more drive. And, if you let the llama run completely wild, you'll be rewarded with screaming leads and tight, heavy riffs. With the volume control, you can just about keep things under control, but be warned: the Red Llama can bring even the cleanest of amplifiers to its knees.

True bypass overdrive with practical extras

The WHE203 Red Llama has a very robust housing made of anodised aluminium. The stomp box is equipped with a relay-based true-bypass circuit that makes sure the original sound of your guitar isn't altered. A practical blue LED indicator shows you if the effect is on. The Red Llama is powered by a single 9-volt battery or the optional Dunlop 9V AC adapter. If the battery produces too little power, the pedal automatically goes to bypass mode. Also, there's a safety feature on the adapter input that prevents you from connecting a wrong adapter. The battery compartment is on the front for quick and easy changing.
