General

Seminal albums like Sgt. Pepper and Electric Ladyland were only possible because of uniquely creative studio techniques, and still serve as a reference point for any budding engineers today. Back in the day, musicians and engineers were forced to get creative with the limited resources that they had, and they certainly made the most of it. Armed with nothing more than a tape deck, they were able to create effects like overdrive, flange and echo and all of it was backed up by the warmth and character of analogue - a quality that more clinical digital recording simply can't compete with. What the Strymon Deco Tape Saturation & Double Tracker does is more-than convincingly recreate the tape deck that helped make studio tricks of yesteryear possible.

Pandora's Box

Beneath the classy, understated housing of the Strymon Deco lies an extremely powerful chunk of technology, and it's this technology that makes it possible to accurately emulate the unique sound of a tape deck. By saturating the input signal, for instance, you can create a natural drive/distortion; you can set up and tweak a tape delay, varying from a short slapback to a gloriously old-school analogue tape delay that darkens and slowly decays with each repetition. Back in the day, engineers conjured a flange or chorus effect by manipulating the tape manually, here you can simply tweak the aptly named Wobble pot.

Strymon - High-End Effects

In just a short period of time, Strymon's boutique-style stompboxes have gained legendary status. These high-end digital effects use the most advanced DSP algorithms to recreate the sound of legendary analogue pedals as faithfully as possible. What you get with the Strymon Deco is the beloved sound of the past and all the possibilities that came with an old analogue tape deck. And all of that potential comes wrapped up in a pedalboard-friendly box loaded with modern functionality and ease of use.

Twee erg goede effecten in één bakkie dus. Verzending ging zelfs op oudjaarsdag zoals beloofd.
