The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Excess stompbox doesn't just offer you an absurd amount of eighties-flavoured distortion, but the lush, heady atmosphere of some thick and sultry chorus and just enough slap-back delay, or a harmonized delay that lays on a fifth above the source pitch. Flip between the two modulation effects and flip the effect chain around, by sticking the mod section in front of the distortion, the other way around, or sticking them in parallel.

The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Excess V2: Sonic Adventure in Ridiculous Distortion

Once you start digging into the set of five control pots of the next-gen Excess, you get a pretty good idea, pretty quickly, of just how brilliantly mangled, shredded, and then spaced-out your signal can get. Six control pots have been divided over the two sections, setting up both effects with three adjustable parameters. Set the volume level for both effects before setting the Gain and Tone of your distortion and setting the tempo and intensity of your modulation via the Time and Depth pots. Hook up an expression pedal, and take it even further - exploring the farthest extremes that the Excess has to offer, but via a far more compact stompbox.
