General

In celebration of the release of Green Day's 13th studio album, 'Father of All ...', MXR make a limited edition version of the Dookie Drive. The DD25V3 Dookie Drive Unicorn is adorned with the rainbow-puking unicorn found on the album cover. Beneath, this pedal guarantees that unmistakable Green Day-esque overdrive. The layer of dirt and direct punch this effect adds can be customised for a little more crunch or high-gain to really inject your own twist. As Billie Joe once said: 'Nothing says f*** you like a unicorn'.

If you have spent your guitar playing life chasing the sound of the opening to When I Come Around, as im sure many have, then yes this will get you there and has good versatility for more. Im generally happy with it, however bit suprised at the MXR build quality and general presentation and pakaging since i bought my last MXR (6band EQ). Having said its a great sound, albeit a bit od a cheapo look & feel. On purchasing and testing i realise that an EHX LPB1 into a Love Pedal Purple Plexi gives me something a bit tastier. But can you imagine...i run both now, left n right amps....yep omg.

Pros
Great sound of you want fat driven marshall sound
Gets you that Greenday sound (amp/guitar dependant)
Has a few tones..not a one-trick job

Cons
Expenshiiiveeee
Build quality and quality feels a bit sketchy/cheapo (jacks;knobs)
Packaging and presentation also cheapo
No battery option/9v DC only = may invite dirty DC noise into your chain buzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Beste overdrive ooit!
