General

The Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive is no mere overdrive pedal. More technically and affectionately referred to as a 'fine-tuned overdrive pedal', this hand-wired marvel has been designed to be brutal enough to push your already overdriven amp that bit further. What's totally unique is that complete control over how and when this stompbox leaps is handed over to you in the form of a 'Z' and 'Texture' pot, giving more exacting and discerning guitarists exactly what they need in their overdrive.

The 'Z' and the 'Texture'

Once your amp has reached that sweet overdriven spot, controlling your output using nothing but the volume of your guitar can get awkward. It's also pretty tough to reach that lush Goldilocks region where your amp is just on the edge of overdrive. This is where the Sky Blue Overdrive comes in. Using the 'Z' control pot, you can determine exactly how sensitively your amp responds to the volume control of your guitar, giving you way more room to play. Using the 'Texture' pot, meanwhile, you can give the pedal detailed instructions on how the overdrive circuits start to kick in.

Wired by Real Human Hands

By treating your board to a hand-wired series pedal, you give it the very best that Mad Professor has to offer. Every contact point of the circuit board as well as the pots and switches have been made by a real human hand. The result is a rock solid stompbox that's been fully prepped to provide years if not decades of service. Since hand-wired pedals are actually less sensitive, they can take a beating and have been proven to be the most reliable tour buddies possible.

Tips or comments about this product
  • Mad Professor advises that: "For the best results, use passive pickups and avoid placing any buffered pedals before your Sky Blue Overdrive.'
