General

While the Tube Screamer is nothing short of world-renowned overdrive pedal, Mad Professor saw a bit of room for improvement and didn't hesitate to overhaul the original design and touch up on one or two flaws. The welcome result is the Little Green Wonder, which packs the same delicious overdrive as the TS-808 but without the feared treble loss and with much less compression. Use it to boost your tube amp, or add anything from a lightly distorted edge to all-out distortion to your clean signal.

Little Green Wonder Overdrive: A Genuine Pedalboard Floater

The Little Green Wonder is designed in such a way that it can be placed anywhere in your signal chain. While most overdrive pedals tend to add a sizeable dose of compression to the signal, this has been deliberately kept to a minimum for the Little Green Wonder, making it perfect for extended effects chains where each of the included pedals already adds a dose a compression of their own. In addition, this overdrive pedal makes for a great team with humbucker-equipped electric guitars that naturally have a more compressed signature sound.

Body Control & Hand-Wired

The pure ingenuity of the Mad Professor Little Green Wonder lies in the Body control used to determine the frequency range of the distortion effect. Turn it to the left, and you'll capitalise on the bass and low-mids while gently boosting the trebles. Turn it to the right, and you'll only add presence to the trebles. Where the classic Tube Screamer would suffer from treble loss here, the engineers at Mad Professor have skilfully fixed this issue for the LGW by hand-soldering each individual circuit board contact before checking them for quality. So, if you want the best of the best from Mad Professor, you'll definitely want to pick up this Handwired Edition. Made in Finland.
