The Roland GP-3 digital grand piano is compact enough to be set up in most living rooms and even some bedrooms. In terms of sound, you're looking at the time-honoured V-Piano concept which ensures masses of realism, whether you're going for classic piano sound or one of the other built-in styles. The V-Piano engine inside the GP-3 is based on complex physical modelling, which offers various advantages when compared to sample-based engines. For a start, you won't have any of the issues caused by velocity groups or sample-loops, and the way you play the keys and use the sustain pedal is actually fully factored into the calculations made by the V-Piano engine, resulting in spot-on sound.

Other Features of the Roland GP-3

While for many musicians the piano sound will be the main reason to invest in this digital baby grand, the Roland GP-3 also offers up various other traditional sounds, as well as an integrated recorder and seamless app integration. Meanwhile, controlling the digital piano is easy since all of the extra functions can be simply accessed via the keys, and so you can hone your skills under the supervision of a teacher, Roland have thoughtfully fitted two headphone outputs. Polished off with a coat of black high-gloss lacquer, the GP-3 is also nothing short of a beauty to behold.

Na een paar jaar een silent piano in huis gehad te hebben gehad besloten deze te verkopen en te kijken voor een digitale baby vleugel. Bij Bax shop Amsterdam een aantal vleugels geprobeerd, en hoewel deze Roland eigenlijk iets boven budget was kon ik niet om het prachtige geluid heen. De goedkopere vleugels klonken toch een stuk minder mooi. Ook het prachtige uiterlijk is een traktatie om naar te kijken, in feite is het buiten een muziekinstrument ook nog is een prachtig meubelstuk. De afmetingen maken dat het vrijwel in elke huiskamer geplaatst kan worden, en ook het in elkaar zetten was een makkie (wel met z'n 2en doen). Het geluid is werkelijk subliem, de speakers kunnen vrij hard zonder dat het geluid gaat oversturen en er zijn meerdere geluiden beschikbaar. Van piano tot clavecimbel en strings. Ook de Roland app is erg handig, hier kun je je eigen begeleiding in opnemen waardoor je in je eentje toch bijzonder uitgebreide stukken kunt spelen. Enige nadeel wat ik heb ondervonden is de bezorging, deze is letterlijk tot aan de drempel. Ik woon op 2 hoog (met ruime liften) en hoewel de bezorger een pompwagen tot z'n beschikking heeft was er helaas geen ruimte om hem tot aan mijn voordeur te brengen, maar enkel tot de lift. Het was dus een hele klus 'm daarna nog naar mijn voordeur te krijgen.

Magnifique.
Après avoir tenté l'experience du très beau CASIO PX-S7000 malheureusement déçu par le rendu sonore (pas par la puissance mais par la restitution du son ) je me suis rabattu sur le Roland GP3. Dans un 1er temps, c'est son look qui a attiré mon attention ( de la même manière que le CASIO).
Après l'avoir vu en magasin, qui m'a permis de tester le toucher et d'entendre son rendu, j'ai été confirmé dans mon choix initial.
J'ai donc revendu le CASIO pour acheter le Roland GP3.
Il est installé chez moi depuis quelques jours et je confirme qu'il est magnifique. Il fait très bel effet dans un salon sans prendre beaucoup de place.
Dans les différences que je suis en mesure de comparer on trouve
- Le clavier qui n'est pas en bois
- Le contrôle du piano (sonorité, metronome, enregistrement, parametres...) qui se pilote uniquement au clavier sans écran ou qu'à partir de l'application Roland dédiée
Mais à la fois le style et le son riche et expressif compense largement ces petites différences.

Rapport qualité/prix imbattable
