General

With their CSP Clavinova series, Yamaha have officially taken their years of experience with acoustic pianos into the digital age of modern technology. This CSP-150 digital piano is controlled virtually completely via your mobile device with an app called Smart Pianist (compatible with both iOS and Android). Use the app to select high-quality grand piano samples like Yamaha's own CFX or the legendary Bösendorfer Imperial, or any of the other 692 sounds at your disposal. A particularly handy function is Audio To Score, which generates the notes or chords of an uploaded audio file. If you're not used to reading music, this piano will help you learn by means of LEDs above the keys that show you which ones to press down and when).

Chock-full of audio options

Using the app, you can vary the sound of the CSP-150 significantly. As well as grand piano samples, there are hundreds of Super Articulation (SA) voices that simulate specific characteristics of an instrument such as the fret noise of a guitar or inhalation with wind instruments. All 470 accompaniment instruments boast this high quality, and automatically follow the chords and volume of your playing. Using the layer and split functions, you can combine different sounds for even more possibilities. Use the app to indicate where you want to divide the keyboard and which instruments you want to stack. There's a mic input on the piano as well so you can sing along, and even simulate backing vocals using the Vocal Harmony function!

Playing feel of an acoustic piano

Yamaha have designed the CSP-150's keyboard so that it feels as authentic as an the one on an acoustic grand piano. This is because it features Graded Hammer 3X (GH3X) keys that boast the same response and weight of acoustic keys, and thanks to the integrated sensor technology, you can play this digital upright with just as much dynamics and expression. Because the keys have ivory and ebony surface coating, your fingers won't be able to tell the difference!
