If you play the piano - or have plans to take up lessons - you want a piano that can effortlessly handle all imaginable piano music. An acoustic would be great, sure, but comes with its own set of disadvantages. If you haven't got the room to spare or if you've got easily-annoyed neighbours, a digital piano is probably your best bet. Fortunately, Yamaha carries decades of experience building these instruments and offers up an affordable one with the YDP-164 in White Ash.

A piano that offers realism and power

The Yamaha YDP-164 contains all the essential ingredients for convincing piano play: a stunning piano sound based on the famous Yamaha CFX acoustic grand piano and a Graded Hammer Standard keyboard for a genuine feel. Yamaha has decided not to add too many extras to keep the price down, but this digital piano still has everything you need on-board. Compared to the 144 Model from the Arius Series, the 164 boasts extra powerful speakers that'll easily fill up a large living room with crystal-clear, roaring sounds from solidly struck piano chords. Playing chords will feel great, as the keys' feel comes close to a grand piano thanks to the use of synthetic ivory and ebony
