General

The Roland LX706 Series rises above most other digital pianos since, rather operating on the basis of samples, it's driven by Roland's very own PureAcoustic Modeling technology. This system sculpts a sound in real-time to replicate that of an acoustic piano, including the click of hammers hitting strings to the reverberation of notes inside the sound cabinet. This, coupled with the 88 note Hybrid Grand keyboard shapes an authentic experience and level of expression comparable to playing a grand piano. The keys are also slightly longer than those found on standard digital pianos and, since the pivot point is further back, less pressure is needed when a key is struck close to its top. At your feet, the set of three integrated Progressive Damper Action pedals have the same fast reaction as found with top acoustic models and, while the LX708 might be considered the more powerful member of the LX700 range, the LX706 strikes a welcome balance between function and price. This is the Polished Ebony finished version.

Three-Way Speaker System

So that the full extent of the expression of this instrument can be experienced in all its glory, the LX706 is fitted with a set of six speakers with a three-way configuration. The speakers work in three pairs to strike the optimal balance of high and low frequencies and fully emulate the atmosphere of an acoustic piano. To add a touch of fantasy, the PureAcoustic Ambience technology can be used to add space-specific reverb, placing your piano in a virtual concert hall, studio or cathedral. Besides the recreation of a European or American grand (with unlimited polyphony), this Roland offers a host of electric pianos, organs and orchestral sounds.

Further Features

Of course the LX706 can be played as a solo instrument but presents much more than this. Along with the list of sounds to play with, Twin-Mode is available for teaching. This mode splits the keyboard in two and literally twins the octaves on both sides. There are also built-in songs and a recording function as well as the ability to play back music from external devices via Bluetooth or the mini-jack AUX input. A USB memory stick can also be plugged in to playback WAV files, a computer can also be connected via a further USB output and two line-outputs are included for further amplification, recording or monitoring.
