General

The Roland V-Piano Grand is quite an instrument. It has the looks of a classic grand piano and offers a choice of numerous grands, upright pianos and even your own custom-made instruments. That's right: this Grand allows you to create your own sounds by editing the various piano presets - not just by means of a simple equalizer, but using a wide range of specific piano parameters (from Hammer Hardness to Soundboard Resonance) that can all be set to your liking. The Roland GP-7 V-Piano Grand combines the advanced sound generator of the original V-Piano with a gorgeous grand piano cabinet, finished in Polished Ebony.

Roland V-Piano Grand: cabinet and keyboard

The cabinet of the GP-7 Grand is not just a treat for your eyes, but has great functionality as well - that much is instantly clear when you hit the keys. A multi-channel sound system has been incorporated, including a built-in amplifier that supplies four times 60 watts, divided between a subwoofer, four low and mid-frequency speakers and three high-frequency speakers. An exceptionally natural piano sound is the result - it is as if you're listening to actual, physical strings. The piano lid can be opened and closed at will. The GP-7 PE features a Progressive Hammer Action III keyboard, equipped with Ivory Touch and Escapement technology so you can fully focus on your playing without experiencing any limitations to your expression.

V-Piano sound generator

The Roland V-Piano Grand sets itself apart thanks to its outstanding sound generator, which does not function conventionally by using piano samples, but reproduces 264 virtual strings in real-time. As such, the V-Piano Grand is able to respond to your playing style like an acoustic instrument would. An additional benefit is that it allows you to design your own sounds - thirty piano presets are at your disposal to edit to your heart's desire. From exotic string configurations to alternative tunings or even the hardness of the hammer felt: everything is adjustable. Thanks to the GP-7 V-Piano Grand you're now able to program and play pianos that you have previously only dreamed of! Immerse yourself completely in your piano music with this state-of-the-art sound technology.
