General

If you're in the market for an instrument for your piano lessons, Casio knows just what the amateur or beginner pianist needs. The Casio Privia PX-160 in pristine white has it all, starting with 88 keys that provide a realistic playing feel, plus a convincing, spacious piano sound. It also has various features that are developed especially to assist students and teachers during the lesson.

Realistic keyboard

This affordable digital piano by Casio has no trouble competing with pianos in higher price ranges. You'd be amazed at how accurately the keys respond to your attack, for instance. To achieve this, Casio developed and implemented their own 'Scaled Hammer Action II' keyboard. It's essentially a lot of little hammers, which means the keys go from heavy to less heavy, just like in an acoustic piano. For even more precision (even at very fast playing speeds), each key is equipped with three sensors. The key surfaces are impressive as well; they look like they're made out of genuine ebony and ivory!

If you want more

If it's important to you to be able to practise in silence, you can plug in a set of headphones using the output on the front. A second output is handy for when you're playing with someone else. You can also split the keyboard in two for practising with your instructor, for instance. To top it all off, Casio has included a sustain pedal, which you can replace with the optional SP-33 (3 pedals), combined with the CS 67 P stand.
