Alesis Recital 88 Digital Piano
Product no: 9000-0029-9353 Bax Music Warranty: This product comes with a 3-year warranty.

General

The Recital is a full-size digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys. It has five voices: acoustic piano, electric piano, organ, synth and bass. It's possible to combine two of the voices by using the Layer mode to create a full, rich tone. There's also a Split function that allows you to have separate sounds on each side of the keyboard. That means you can play bass with your left hand and the melody using another instrument with the your right hand at the same time, for instance.

Lesson Mode

While the other modes are probably better suited to more advanced players, the Lesson mode is aimed at beginners. In this mode, the keyboard is split evenly in two with each side having exactly the same pitch and voice. This means that a tutor can play a piece first and have the student play back exactly the same thing. The sound is played through powerful 20-watt built-in speakers. When you want to practise in silence, simply plug a set of headphones into the headphone socket.

Connectors

There are various connectors on the back of the Recital, adding to its versatility. As well as the headphone socket, there's an input to attach an optional sustain pedal. There are also RCA outputs so that you can connect the Recital to a recorder, mixer, amplifier or PA system. It's also possible to connect this digital piano to a computer using the USB MIDI output. The Recital can be powered using the included power adapter or by 6 D cell batteries (not included).

Alesis Recital 88 Digital Piano
Wrote the following about Alesis Recital 88 Digital Piano

It has five different sounds that can be stacked together in Layer mode or assigned to the left and right hands using Split mode. There's also a Lesson mode that divides the keyboard into two identical sections. When you want to practise in silence, simply connect a set of headphones. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced player, the Recital is an excellent choice.

NAMM 2016: Yamaha DGX-660 Digital Piano

Thursday 21 January 2016

Thanks to their wooden housing, digital pianos usually blend in nicely with the rest of your furniture. Keyboards, on the other hand, tend to stick out a bit more. With their DGX series, Yamaha provides the perfect middle ground. These instruments have the same options as a keyboard, but their housing (with stand) ensures they don't stand out too much in your living room.
