General

The Allen & Heath iLive R72 control surface is a compact, rack-mountable MIDI controller with access and control over 72 channels, mixes and DCA's. It boasts two fader banks of six layers each. Each channels can be assigned by task, and can be labelled and coloured-coded with the virtual write-on strip. All system functions can be operated using the touchscreen and surface controls.

The iLive R72 features accessible rotary knobs and switches, visually-informative, colour-coded channel labels, comprehensive metering, a graphic coloured touchscreen and logical layout make it easy for the user to navigate through the menu structure in an intuitive way.

Lekker compact, maar toch overzichtelijk: De hele indeling is naar eigen wens te maken;

De tafel is zeer makkelijk te bedienen, zonder veel poespas eromheen;

De CAT5-kabel maakt een grote, dikke multikabel overbodig, waardoor je tussen het iDR-blok maar één CAT5 kabel hoeft te leggen;

Geluidskwaliteit van zowel de surface zelf, als haar effecten: Zeer goed!;

Al met al voor ons echt een toptafeltje!

Enige nadelen zijn, dat je geen equalizer direct in de vorm van potmeters op je surface hebt, maar op het (grote) touchscreen, en je kunt de faders als EQ laten dienen. Ook is het aantal schuiven wat laag, maar door een goede indeling te maken, is dit ook geen probleem.
