General
The Novation Dicer provides you with a compact cue point and loop controller for your digital software. These little USB controllers are supplied per two pieces and can be clicked directly into the 45-adapter hole of a Technics SL1200. They can also be placed on a CD player or a laptop.
The Dicer is a plug-and-play controller: there is no need to install drivers or to create complicated settings. Your software will recognise the controller, allowing you to get started right away. If you are using Serato, the controllers can be operated immediately. If you are using other software, such as Traktor, you need to download and install a setup file first.
The Dicer has five illuminated buttons with a direct connection to the loop and cue functions of your software. Three different modes are available, to be controlled with a simple push of a button. The hot cues are first.
In Serato, the Dicer also controls the Audio Loop and Loop Roll functions. In the Auto Loop and Loop Roll mode, the five 'dice' buttons are assigned to loops of different lengths which can be directly controlled. The Dicer is fully MIDI assignable, which means you are free to assign up to 60 different functions in three modes according to your preferences, It can also be used to control drum and sampler software, so it is a great asset for your studio as well.
The Dicer is supplied in a set of two pieces and is compatible with all Windows and Apple computers via a USB port. Only one USB cable is included, as both units are connected to each other by means of a jack cable. The Dicer is powered via USB.
This controller is great for use in the studio and on stage and works with nearly all DJ software.

Persoonlijk vind ik het feit dat je de dicers met de genoemde "DJ Putty" (een soort van kneedgum) moet bevestigen aan je CDJ's een minpunt. Ik heb liever zuignapjes onder dicers zitten dan dat ik ook nog eens losse DJ Putty mee moet nemen en bewaren.
Maar eenmaal aangesloten, vastgeplakt en wel, heb ik er enorm veel draaiplezier mee tijdens mijn sets in de clubs. De dicers zijn hun geld zeker waard!
Op dit moment wel nog op zoek naar een goede map met de orginele functies van de dicer.
Al met al een fijn product en een must have voor de digitale DJ!
They make looping so much easier rather than looping from the computer in serato.
I had only used serato with CDJ's a few of times and I got frustrated that the cue button doesn't work for the serato control CD's as the CDJ's are not MIDI. These fix that problem and even enhance it as you can have up to 5 cue points set for a song.
For each Dicer there are 5 buttons for cue/loop roll/looping and 3 buttons to select which function you're using (cue/loop roll/loop) which are differentiated by the color of the lights on the Dicer.
On top of this You can also set and additional 10 MIDI controls per Dicer (in total 20) which you can use to set effects, scroll through songs/crates, load decks etc. VERY HANDY! This lets you control everything without having to move off the turntable.
Great price for what you get as it will allow you to do so much more without having to move away from your deck and will give you more possibilities for creative mixing especially if you're using vinyl with serato as it brings an element of the CDJ to the vinyl turntable.
I'm stoked with this product and as always, Bax-Shop delivered it within 1 day!
In een normale club-opstelling (2 Technics aan elke zijde van een DJM) zijn de kabeltjes echt wel lang genoeg. Maar mischien dat t met n 19" mixer wat lastiger wordt...
super voor zijn prijs, knoppen zijn robuust, en al ze stuk gaan is het de moeite kwa prijs niet om het te laten maken (of het zelf te doen). aldus super product!
Handig in de omgang, makkelijk te installeren en vooral makkelijk te transporteren.
Enkel de draden zouden iets langer mogen zijn. Settings met 2 cdspelers en een 19" mixer durven zelfs al voor problemen te zorgen indien je de bekabeling niet gewoon los over je toestellen wil laten lopen.
Ik heb het maandag besteld, en heb het vandaag (donderdag) al in huis (bij de koerier waren er problemen door het stormachtige weer...)
Alweer een supersysteem van een superwinkel!
