This wonderful Special 20 harmonica by world-renowned brand Hohner has long been a favourite with many professionals, as well as with people that are just starting off their musical career on the harmonica. Thanks to its innovative comb, this model was the first modern harmonica ever produced back in the ‘70s. It provides you with a warm, powerful sound and rich chords. It can be used for various music styles, like blues, soul, folk and country.
The Special 20 C
This particular Special 20 model is in the key of C. Harmonicas in this key are often used for music in the key of G. This Special 20 C is checked for quality several times during the production process. The tuning is also done partially by hand, as Hohner connoisseurs feel that this is the only way to properly check whether or not it is in tune. The reed is filed down until it produces the perfect sound. This procedure ensures you of a perfectly tuned and high-quality harmonica.
The Materials
Several carefully selected materials are used to create this harmonica. The comb is made of plastic, so that your mouth can pass over it smoothly. The reed plates and reeds are made of brass and the covers of stainless steel. If you so desire, the reed plates can be replaced. The harmonica is also completely airtight, so that only the air that you blow through registers.
