General

Have you recorded your band on several tracks? Or have you perhaps created a large 'in-the-box' 24-track music piece? With Sony Acid Pro 7 you can produce the most fantastic mixes. Thanks to an unlimited number of audio tracks, the software package can handle big projects, and a video track enables you to create/mix music for a music video - in 5.1 surround, if you like.

New in Acid Pro 7

One of the many highlights of Acid Pro 7 is a mixing console for MIDI and audio with the necessary meters, while the élastique Pro plug-in provides for all your time-stretching and pitch-shifting needs. Combined with the new tempo curves, that gives you full control over the tempo of your mix (and loops). And speaking of loops - Sony has included over 3,000 in this package! With Acid Pro, you can easily patch together a soundtrack for your videos, even if you lack any musical skills whatsoever - the exceptional user-friendliness and accessibility is one of the main perks of this Sony software.

A bit of history

In 1998, Sonic Foundry (the original developer of Sound Forge, Acid and Vegas) introduced Acid, and the package rapidly made a name for itself. Many producers, DJs and composers valued the software because of its quick and intuitive way of working with loops. Acid allowed for loops of any length - the software automatically applied time-stretching without any noticeable loss in audio quality. A drum loop of 80 BPM could easily be used at 100 BPM without any audible key changes. Today this technology is a given, but in 1998 it was revolutionary!
