General

Affordable yet potent, Bitwig has carved out a niche of die-hard fans within the well-populated DAW universe. You might already know what to expect from this slice of software because of the entry-level bonus editions that often come included with controllers and MIDI keyboards, but you'll also notice that the bigger and fatter Producer edition piles on a just a bit more. In terms of functions, Producer doesn't differ that much from the full-sized Studio edition, but since it is made for producers, this version is a massive step up from the more beginner-friendly Essentials.

What Comes with Bitwig Studio?

This is the fifth edition of Bitwig Producer, and while some changes have been made, including some bug fixes and little tweaks, this package still has the neat modular-style system as the much-loved versions that came before it. This system doesn't just make Bitwig easy to navigate and use, but means that everything can be linked together. So if you want to do something nuts like link the master-fader with an LFO, it's actually possible! Instruments and effects can be treated in exactly the same way, opening up the creative boundaries and giving producers and musicians more than enough space to play around in. And when it comes to compositions there's no track or VST plugin limit, so every idea can be laid down, no matter how big it gets.
