General

While they're already handing out free copies of the 8-Track version with a few MIDI-controllers, this is the 100% expanded 16-Track version of Bitwig's production software and is just as fledgling-producer-friendly. Yes, it's perhaps a smaller-than-average DAW and can't exactly handle the insane number of instruments involved in making an entire film score (but then, there are countless packages available for this), it still offers masses of potential. In any case, 16 tracks was more than enough to play with back in the day and this programme is definitely more than enough for singer-songwriters and beginners to start carving out a production career.

The Features of Bitwig 16-Track

To get off to a great start, a copy of the Essentials Collection and the Partner Collection (teasers) comes included. For limitless workflow, VSTs can also be used to open a world of possible sounds and any non-dynamic audio loops can be put through a built-in time-stretcher so they can be easily made to fit the time-lime. Add effects and apply single MIDI effects to notes and, if you also have Ableton live, you'll be glad to know that support is provided for Ableton LINK so you can synch it up with Bitwig 16-Track. Once you've polished up your project, bounce it out in CD-quality and start work on the next track!
