This cymbal set by Zildjian is especially designed for drummers who like to play loud. Really loud. The large diameters, the special B12 alloy, the bright sound and excellent definition are all qualities that will surely suit any rock drummer's needs. Rock guitarists like to turn their amps up all the way, especially when they're on stage and high on adrenaline! With the S Family cymbal set by Zildjian, however, drummers are guaranteed to cut through the mix with ease.
Zildjian S Family Rock cymbal set
This set is comprised of four cymbals—5 if you count the hi-hats separately. The pair of 14-inch hi-hat cymbals deliver an aggressive sound with the unmistakable, defined 'chick' sound, regardless of whether they're played half-open or open. Both cymbals have a medium-heavy weight and substantial sound projection. Also included are two relatively large crash cymbals measuring 18 and 20 inches respectively. The size of their diameter, the medium-heavy weight and the special B12 alloy used to make them all add up to an impressive sound. Despite their low pitch, you can hear a range of bright overtones in their long sustain. Last but not least, there's the ride cymbal, which is 22 inches in diameter and also suitable for use as a crash. It boasts excellent stick definition and response on both the profile and the bell. So, if you're a rock drummer in the market for a great-sounding cymbal set for the rehearsal room as well as the stage, then the S Family cymbal set by Zildjian is a great option!
Unique B12 alloy
Zildjian S Family cymbals are made of B12 alloy, which consists of 88% copper and 12% tin. In order to achieve a new and modern sound from an age-old material, developers in the Zildjian sound lab experimented with different techniques over the course of two whole years! During that time, they created and tested various designs in the lab as well as in the field, so to speak. The S Family series adds a unique, bright sound to the Zildjian assortment.
