General
Cymbals in Sabian's Quiet Tone series are designed to respond and feel just like regular ones. The only difference is in the volume they produce. This QTPC501 cymbal set consists of two cymbals that are made of a special alloy and full of holes in order to produce a much lower volume for practise sessions. The set contains a 13-inch hi-hat and an 18-inch crash ride.

Wrote the following about Sabian QTPC501 Quiet Tone cymbal set, 13 + 18 inches
Nice sounding and quiet(er).
Been enjoying this set of Quiet Tones for 10 days. The 13" hats are especially worth it. Super sound closed, slightly ajar or open. Nice clink on pedal steps. 18" ride crash dies both tasks really well. I do find myself laying back on this cymbal as it has a shimmer and high end ping. I would still wear some ear protection because of high end brightness. But okay for 15-20 minute bursts.
2016 has just begun, but Sabian has already announced a brand new line of cymbals: the XSR series. This successor to the Xs20 series features the exceptional qualities we know from the Evolution and X-plosion cymbals, applied to a much more affordable line. Sabian ensures us that they're absolutely best in class!
Zildjian spent two years developing their new S Family series. This extensive new range consists of a whopping 33 cymbals and two cymbal sets. If you're looking for bright-sounding cymbals that are suitable for a remarkably wide musical repertoire, then take a closer look at these new Zildjian cymbals!
Following on from the success of their DDK-100 electronic drum kit and new drumstick models, Fazley now have even more drum news! They’ve just introduced no fewer than five new cymbal series! No matter your budget, they’ve got a cymbal for you!
Sabian is adding no fewer than 25 new cymbals to its range of products for the coming year. There are new additions to the AA, AAX, XSR, B8X and HHX series, as well as a number of interesting new Artisan Light and Artisan Elite cymbals. The Artisan Elite series will increase the sound possibilities for jazz-oriented drummers in particular.
