General

Paiste's PST5 series is a highly popular, best-selling series of cymbals, and in 2014, Paiste gave this 14-inch Medium Crash (and the rest of the series, of course) a bit of an update. The new PST5's are lighter than their predecessors, and offer a much warmer, deeper sound. All in all, this 14-inch medium crash is a great cymbal with a rich sound and an even response.

The PST5 series cymbals are a great fit for a variety of genres. This 14-inch crash's medium sustain does well in both loud and soft styles, as it makes differences in dynamics clearly audible. The cymbal is made of B8 bronze, the use of which Paiste pioneered in the '60s. It's a highly durable material that gives the cymbals enhanced flexibility, which in turn allows for more playing comfort. The Paiste PST5 14-inch medium crash has an attack that is followed by a light wash. It's the ideal cymbal for beginner musicians.
