General

Meinl's Generation X series has plenty to offer adventurous drummers. If you're looking for a crash cymbal that is completely different from what most drummers use, then this GX-18KC is sure to please both your eyes and ears. This 18-inch Kinetik Crash has a waved edge, and it's made of Meinl's complex FX9 alloy to give it a rich, versatile sound. It was manufactured and shaped through a computerised process.

Meinl Generation X Kinetik Crash

Electronic drum sounds are very popular, particularly for drum 'n bass and jungle-type music. The cutting, highly EQ'd crash sounds that the drum machines of yore produced, are now often imitated by drummers themselves. This Kinetik Crash, for instance, also has a 'white noise' effect to its sound. Furthermore, thanks to its waved edge it has a short sustain, and combined with its narrow projection, that gives it an almost electronic character. As it is quite large, the core tone has a relatively low pitch, giving it a highly distinct sound and making it a great alternative to a regular crash cymbal.
