Meinl FL10BB Floatune 10-inch Nino Conga

The Floatune Series is Meinl's subtle way of introducing their very new and very innovative tuning system. The FL10BB is a 10-inch nino congo made of rubber wood that, like every example included in the Floatune Series, has not one single hole drilled in its sides in order to mount any tension and tuning hardware. Instead, the wood is complete and as such, incredibly resonant, drawing fullness, warmth and bright accents from the fitted buffalo-skin head.

Meinl FL10BB: Isolated Hardware

The reason that every instrument included in the Floatune Series manages to deliver such wide tonal range, is that the hardware is mounted in such a way that it doesn't make any contact with the shell. Instead, bracings line the sides of the shell, extending up from the base to the tension rods and comfortably bevelled S.S.R. rim, giving the wood the space it needs to resonate fully. This nino format conga with professional gloss Brown Burl finish, while a little smaller than standard, offers big sound and optimum amplification.
