General
The Neumann KMS 105 is a professional vocal condenser microphone that's designed to register the human voice in as natural a way as possible. This model can ideally be used as a reference mic, as its sensitivity and maximum sound pressure (150 dB SPL) make it highly versatile in live situations. It also takes the proximity effect into account - low frequencies that are overly accentuated when you sing or speak closely into the microphone are electronically compensated for. You'll always enjoy balanced vocal reproductions with the KMS 105!
Dynamic range and microphone construction
That this isn't a starter microphone is also clearly indicated by its super-low self noise! An extensive dynamic range and a lot of room for gain provide the vocalist or speaker with complete freedom on stage. Thanks to the transformerless circuit, the outgoing signals can also travel through long cables, without suffering any signal loss. The KMS 105 is highly durable, and therefore perfect for on-stage use. Its metal housing is thick enough to protect the internal components from knocks and reduce handling noise. The grille is made of hardened steel and can easily be removed for the cleaning of the internal acoustic filters.
