General

When it comes to the Walrus Audio Mira, it's not just the artwork and name that demand your attention. In fact, you're looking at a studio-quality optical compressor that gets you a round attack and masses of sustain. The extra controls set you up with a lot more options, just like you'd get with those larger comps in studio racks, and while this guitar pedal takes its power from a 9V DC power supply (not included), the inner workings of this stompbox up the voltage to 15 Volts to give you more headroom while you play.

The Mira: Studio-Grade Guitar and Bass Compression

Whether you're playing guitar or bass, the side-chain HPF switch on the side can be toggled to leave all of the frequencies below the 120Hz mark untouched, reducing the compression of the lows. Want to hear more definition in the sweet sustain this optical compressor serves up? No problem - simply mix in a little of the clean signal using Blend control and there you go. As soon the threshold, ratio, release and attack pots have been dialled in to taste, the wet signal can be matched with the true bypass signal using the make-up and level pots.
