General

The portable Roland Micro Cube GXW (white) is the successor of the highly successful Micro Cube guitar amplifier. This compact mobile amp is powered by batteries (or an adapter), making it the ideal travelling and rehearsal companion for guitar players. The new GX features even more attractive options: new effects, a built-in tuner, an i-Cube Link/AUX connector, a Memory button and even a bit more power than its predecessor.

The remarkably good sound of the Micro Cube GX

Many satisfied users are all agreed: the practical Micro Cube sounds remarkably well. Plug your electric or electric-acoustic guitar into the jack input and choose, for instance, a warm, clean jazz sound, a rock sound, or a fat shredding sound. The new amplifier model Extreme allows you to take an exceptionally rugged approach, while the Heavy Octave effect takes your guitar sound to previously unexplored depths. Quick switches between sounds, such as different rhythm and lead settings, are possible thanks to the Memory button.

Playing along and recording

Playing along with existing songs or recording new tracks yourself is exceedingly easy with the Micro Cube GX. By means of the accessory cable you can directly connect your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to the amplifier, allowing for bidirectional communication. Download the free CUBE JAM app for even more playing and recording options. The i-Cube input can also be used as a regular AUX input, enabling you to connect devices such as a regular smartphone.

Mycket trevlig liten förstärkare. Fin design.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

The VOX VTX Series - Evolution Accelerated

Wednesday 4 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. This series of amps combined digital modelling technology with convincing tube sounds. Since then, models have slowly but steadily improved along with digital technology. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.

NAMM 2016: Hot Additions to Blues Cube Series by Roland

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Renowned instrument colossus Roland first introduced their Blues Cube amplifiers back in the 1990's. The idea was simply to program a transistor amp to sound like a tube amp. Now, more than twenty years down the line, they've perfected that idea. The result is the brand-new Blues Cube Hot: a portable 3-watt combo in Black and Vintage Blond.
