General
The Roland Cube-40GX is the medium model of the 2013 Cube GX modelling guitar amplifier series. It features a specially voiced 10-inch speaker and a capacity of 40 watts. As such, it is powerful enough for use in your rehearsal space or on a small stage. Like the other models of the Cube GX series, the Cube-40GX is equipped with three versatile channels. The Lead channel, however, now features ten different COSM amplifier models and the Delay function has an additional TAP tempo button. Roland's innovative i-Cube Link for connection of iOS devices is also present.
Roland Cube-40GX: three channels with COSM amplifiers
The Cube-40GX combo is equipped with Roland's renowned COSM technology. The JC Clean channel offers the sparkling clean tones of the legendary JC-120 Jazz Chorus. The Lead channel enables you to pick from Blackface Clean to Brit Overdrive, or even Extreme for high-gain metal. The third channel (Solo) is fully programmable and allows you to store any setting from the JC Clean and Lead channels, including EQ and effects. You can switch between channels by means of the controls on the front panel or via an optional BOSS FS-5U, FS-6 or Roland GA-FC foot controller. The latter also allows you to connect expression pedals to control the input and master volume.
Modulation, delay and reverb effects
The Cube-40GX offers you three independent effect sections. The EFX knob controls a variable chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo, plus a heavy octave. The Delay knob offers you the choice between warm and clear, while you can select a speed by means of the TAP tempo button. A reverb effect is also featured, consisting of a vintage-style spring and a studio-style plate. The Cube-40GX is equipped with a built-in chromatic tuner, which enables you to tune your guitar either automatically or manually. Silent practice sessions with headphones or direct recordings on a recorder or mixer are made possible by the separate Recording Out/Phones output.
i-Cube Link and Cube Jam app
A new feature for the Cube series is Roland's i-Cube Link connector, which also serves as an AUX input so you can play along to your favourite music or backing tracks. This mini jack connector allows you to connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch by means of the accessory interface cable. As such, it is possible to use your favourite music or recording apps. The free Cube Jam app offers everything you need to jam, to record and to develop your skills. Play along with songs, filter out the solo track, lower the tempo without changing the pitch or record your jams with one simple push of a button. Additionally, you can mix your recording and export the result to a 16-bit, 44.1kHz WAV file.

Ik ben al jaren voorstander van het merk Roland. Maakt kwaliteit producten.
Wat zal ik nog meer toevoegen. Geen enkel minpuntje kan ik aan deze versterker vinden.

Kortom, zeker een aanrader!
Ik gebruik hem als oefenversterker bij mijn band, maar uitversterkt naar de PA met een Shure SM57 scoort hij verrassend hoog in kwaliteit.
Met de GA-FC voetcomtroller en de 2 EV expressiepedalen (meerprijs met combinatiekorting) verraste ik mezelf in positieve zin. Gewoon de meest gebruikte effecten ingebouwd, eenvoudig in te stellen en te bedienen.
Ik speel al ruim 40 jaar muziek en ik zeg qua prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding een dikke 10.
