General

If you're looking for a compact, lightweight amp without a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles, the Blues Cube Hot Black is right up your alley. This transistor amplifier combo by Roland features Tube Logic technology which makes it sound and react like an authentic tube amp. In overdrive, this 12-kilo amp delivers that familiar, delicious raw edge and a vintage sound, partially due to its Custom Tuned 12-inch speaker.

Any 'stage' of the game

The Blues Cube Hot is a great companion on any stage, or even at home. An integrated Power Control allows you to select the wattage depending on your surroundings and goes from a hushed 0.5 watts at home to a slightly louder 5 watts to 15 watts for a small venue, to a maximum capacity of 30 watts. Turn up the volume to simulate the sound of those hard-working tubes. The Blues Cube is also equipped with loads of handy connectors, including a headphone output and a foot switch connector (foot switch available separately). You can also connect this amp directly to your computer using the USB B port.

From sweet and clean to dirty overdrive

As mentioned before, this combo responds to your playing just like a tube amp would. To achieve that delicious edge, turn the volume up - the higher the volume, the more raw your sound becomes. If you need an extra push during your performance, press the Boost button, located next to the Volume knob to add some crunch. When you want to add some sparkling clarity, engage the Tone button. Both of these effects can be turned on and off by means of a separately available foot switch. Want to elevate your performance even higher? Turn up the Reverb and adjust your sound to perfection using the three-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble) and the Master Volume.

Roland Blues Cube Hot Black transistor amp combo
Wrote the following about Roland Blues Cube Hot Black transistor amp combo

NAMM 2016: Hot Additions to Blues Cube Series by Roland

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Renowned instrument colossus Roland first introduced their Blues Cube amplifiers back in the 1990's. The idea was simply to program a transistor amp to sound like a tube amp. Now, more than twenty years down the line, they've perfected that idea. The result is the brand-new Blues Cube Hot: a portable 3-watt combo in Black and Vintage Blond.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. This series of amps combined digital modelling technology with convincing tube sounds. Since then, models have slowly but steadily improved along with digital technology. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
